Peter Foott’s debut feature film which generated over €250k in the Omniplex Mahon Point box office and over €1.2M nationally, is now available on demand on a host of platforms in Ireland including iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and Eir.
‘The Young Offenders’ also released to the UK this weekend to rave reviews and continues to screen in Ireland in Vue Liffey Valley and Omniplex Mahon Point, while maintaining a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The project is also due to release on DVD on Friday, March 10th.
Inspired by Ireland’s biggest cocaine seizure of €440 million off the coast of Cork in 2007, The Young Offenders follows two Cork inner-city teenagers, Conor and Jock, as they embark on a 160km road trip on stolen bikes in the hopes of finding an unrecovered bale of cocaine.
Since embarking on its festival run last year the project has achieved multiple distribution deals, such as that with Carnaby International Sales & Distribution and XYZ. It has also won a trio of awards at the LA Comedy Festival for Best Feature Direction, Best Feature Screenplay and Best Feature Film, as well as the Súil Eile Award at Irish Film Festival London and Best Feature at the 2016 Galway Film Fleadh, which it shared with ‘A Date for Mad Mary’.
