Pat Collins’ ‘Song of Granite’ to screen at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival

The title which is set to open the 2017 Galway Film Fleadh has been announced as one of four highly regarded films to screen in the Official Selection - Out of Competition line-up.

It joins ‘November’ (Rainer Sernet), Hong Kong Free and Easy (Jun Geng) and Juze (Miransha Naik).

‘Song of Granite’ premiered at SXSW in March of this year and was acquired by Oscilloscope Laboratories last month. The project is produced by Alan Maher and Jessie Fisk of Marcie Films and Martin Paul-Hus of Amerique Films

It is a creative take on the life of Irish musician Joe Heaney at various stages in his life as portrayed by Macdara Ó Fátharta (Leap Year), Michael O'Chonfhlaola, and Colm Seoighe (Black 47).

The cast also includes Jaren Cerf, Lisa O’Neill, Damien Dempsey, and sean nós singers Micheál O’Confhaola and Pól Ó Ceannabháin.
